Doctor Appointment

Today we had Logan's 2 year check up and Aila's 9 month check up. They were both lucky and did not need any shots! Just a little toe prick to check their hemoglobins, which both were fine. Here are their stats:

Logan is 37.5 inches tall. He is in the top percentiles for hieght and the doctor estimates his adult hieght to be 6ft 1, which means he could be taller than his daddy! (Doug is only 6 ft). Logan weighs 25 pounds and he is back on the chart for his weight! He is in the 20th percentile! YAY! The doctor is happy to see that Logan's weight is catching up to his hieght.

Aila is 26 inches short. I say short because she is only in the 5th percentile. She weighs 14 pounds 9 ounces which puts her in the negative percentile for weight. She is fine though because she is short and skinny. If she was tall and skinny like Logan was then they would be worried. So yay! Nothing to stress about. The doctor thinks she will be petite like me : )

So both kiddos are healthy and both kiddos are doing great!

Happy Birthday

May 10th marked our blog's first birthday! I totally missed it because I can't believe that it already has been a year! Our blog has come a long way from simple layouts, writing in the third person and really small pictures to what it is today : ) I am glad that we are able to share our family life with you, especially those of you who live so far away!

Kid's Club

Doug took off Thursday to recuperate from his finals. He came with us to the mall for Kid's Club. Logan was so excited to have his daddy there. It was so cute.

Workout Interruption

The other night when Doug got home early I decided to try to do my Pilates workout video. About 5 minutes into my workout the kids decided to come and climb on me:

I guess I will have to workout after they go to bed!

My Goobers

I call Logan and Aila my goobers. Logan is such a clown and is always doing silly stuff. Aila just laughs at everything and anything, even if it isn't funny. You just poke her and she laughs. Here are some pics of my goobers hanging out at home:

Summer is Here!

One of our favorite summer activities is to go swimming at Nana's house!

We're Back!

We just got back from Georgia yesterday and we are so happy to be back in the Valley of the sun after 5 days of rain, cloudiness and humidity! Yuck! We had a really good time despite the inclement weather. We stayed in a church camp along with all of Doug's old college friends so it felt kind of like being in a dorm. Every night everyone hung out, played cards, watched movies, and chatted.

On our first day Doug took me sight seeing and I got to see the places he used to live and work. Then Doug had a part in the wedding ceremony so we had to go to the wedding rehearsal. After the rehearsal we all went to this beautiful old victorian house that had been turned into a buffet style restaurant. The food was delicious!

On Saturday we woke up early and headed to the Coke Factory. Normally it costs $15 a person but we got lucky because it was their 2 year anniversary and the first 2,000 people got in for just $2! The factory was awesome. We got to taste coke from all around the world like 65 different sodas. Some of them were gross and some were awesome. China has this yummy sour apple soda that I loved. South Africa had a candy flavored soda that Doug liked. I wasn't a fan because it tasted like banana flavored runts. There was a drink called the Beverly from Italy that was totally nasty! We even let Aila had a few tastes of some of the flavors and she loved it. We got to meet the coke bear and we saw a really neat 4D movie where the chairs move and you can feel stuff like wind and water during the movie.

On Saturday night we had the wedding. The church was decorated beautifully and the ceremony was great. I couldn't take any pictures because they didn't want any flashes when their photographer was taking pictures. After the ceremony we went to the church's reception hall which was also decorated beautifully and dined on a buffet of fruit and sandwhiches.

On Sunday we went to visit some good friends of Doug's. They were like his second parents when he lived in Georgia. They worked with him at his trailer park ministry and they were the sweetest couple ever. They have started a home church and we got to go through a study of "Experiencing God" with them which was neat because we actually met Henry Blackabee, the author of the book, at the wedding the night before. We had fun hanging out with them and their son and daughter-in-law.

Then we headed back to the camp where Doug had a ton of homework and studying to do (be praying for him because he has his finals this week). We took a break to go out to dinner at Buffalo's Cafe. Doug called it Butt food cafe because he didn't like his burger but my food was yummy. In fact, there was not a single thing I ate in Georgia that I did not like! They have good home cooking down there. Way better than the spicy sea food you find everywhere in Louisiana!
