We Love to Play...

at Chic Fil A!!!

Homemade Play Dough

I thought it would be fun for the kids if we made our own play dough.  The kids really liked making it and the texture came out great.  The colors did not come out too well because I used my lumpy food coloring that I use for my cake decorating.  I had one liquid food coloring bottle of yellow so the yellow came out nice.

Next time we make it I am wearing gloves! I was afraid my hands were going to be stained purple for a while but I found out that whitening tooth paste takes it right off! Thank you Internet!!!

We invited one of our neighbors to come and play with the playdough:

Then we all went to dinner at Wingstop.  They have the best french fries I have ever tasted.  Not too mention some yummy wings!

Matching

I made Aila's doll a mini pillowcase dress to match her Valentine's day dress.  Aila was so excited to match her baby : )

I'm a Perfectionist

Sometimes it's hard being a full time mom.  I miss going to school and getting a letter grade that told me how well I was doing.  I miss teaching and getting my written reviews of how I was doing.  I am an extreme perfectionist.  Anything less than an A+ was not good enough for me.  If I got a 99 on a paper I was mad at the 1 point I missed.

As a mom the only feedback you really get is from your kids.  And kids are not perfect.  When my kids act up I feel like I must be doing a bad job.  But then I have to remind myself that kids are not perfect.  But the prefectionist in me really wants them to be.  It can be very frustrating.

Right now the kids are supposed to be taking their nap.  Instead of sleeping, I hear Logan singing at the top of his lungs.  At first I was going to be mad, but then I stopped to listen to his song before I opened the door.  He was singing praises to Jesus...

"Jesus I love you! You are so great! You made me special! You made my family! Jesus I love you! Thank you for the sun! Thank you for Texas! You are so great! Thank you for my mommy! You made her special! Jesus I love you"

So instead of scolding I opened the door and reminded him that he was supposed to be sleeping.  He said, "Yes mam!" and laid down.

I guess I am doing an OK job afterall : )

Awana

We signed the kids up for AWANA at our church.  It is a really awesome program that is similar to boy and girl scouts except that it is based on biblical principals.  The kids even get vests and earn badges.  Every week Logan has a new memory verse.  Here he is reciting Genesis 1:31 from this week's lesson:

Logan's Art Work

Here are some of Logan's masterpieces from November and December : )

Where's Logan?!?

We check on the kids every night before we go to bed.  2 nights ago Doug was panicking...he could not find Logan! Logan was not in his bed!!! After turning the light on and looking around his room we found him sleeping in one of the plastic clothes bins I have under Levi's crib.  What a wierdo!

More Bows!

I made one for a friend of ours little girl and I liked it so much I made a similar smaller version for Aila:

Daddy's Boy

Levi seems to be a daddy's boy.  When Doug talks Levi immediately looks around for him.  Doug is the one who gets Levi to sleep at night.  I think if Doug wasn't home to put Levi to bed, Levi would be up all night.

Granny Boutique

Aila's Valentine's dress that Mimi made for her.  It is so cute! I love the cute trim on the bottom! Thanks so much Mimi!

We're in Love

Hair Bows

Made some new bows this week.  My neighbor taught me how to do surrounding loops and helped me get my boutique style bows shaped better.  I plan on making lots of piggy sets soon since Aila finally has enough hair for good pigtails!

J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets!

The Jets are in the playoffs and so the kids wore their Jets outfits to support the team.  Their Uncle Brad is a huge Jets fan so we are hopeing they make it to the Super Bowl just for him.

Itzy'z

We took the kids to a pizza buffet place called Itzy'z.  It has lots of food and lots of games.  Logan got to ride go carts for the first time and Aila rode the little carousel over and over again.  We bowled for the first time ever as a family and Logan won! We stayed there so long that we got our money's worth because we ate lunch AND dinner!
