Our Trip to Texas

Day 1: We landed in Texas and Doug's parents came to pick us up at the airport.  We went to Mark and Jen's house and dropped off all of our stuff and the kids were so happy to see their cousins, aunt, uncle, mimi, and papa.  Doug's good friend Dwayne met us there and he took us all out to dinner at this nice Mexican Restuarant.  While we were there the waitors sang happy birthday to Logan and Mark.  Thanks Dwayne for such and awesome time!

Day 2: Doug was supposed to go sailing with Mark for his birthday but Mark could not get his boat to work so instead we met up with them and the kids got to play at the beach.  This was their first time to ever see the ocean and they absolutely loved it.  The water was even warm! The kids are still talking about the beach and they can't wait to go back.  When we got back from the beach Mimi had made a special birthday dinner for Mark and Logan and put up decorations.  Logan loved his presents from Mimi and Papa.

Logan loves his cousin Payton.  He asked if he could come home with us.  LOL

Days 3, 4 and 5: We went on interviews on these days so Mimi and Aunt Jen watched the kids.  Thank you guys so much for babysitting! I will give you all the details of the interview in our next post.  On day 4 Doug's mom convinced him to go get his cut from softball looked at.  Thank God she did because they almost sent him to the hospital! He has cellulitus and he needed lots of antibiotics.  He is still on his medicine and his leg is getting a lot better.  This is how it looks now.  It still is pretty gross but it was a lot worse than this:

Our last night: Mark and Doug bought some live crawfish and cooked them up in the yard.  The kids loved torturing playing with the live crawfish.  Grace would pick them right up with her hands but Logan was too afraid and preferred to use tongs.

Who knew crawfish could drive tractors?

Uncle Mark and Aunt Jen gave Logan a cool boat for his birthday
Look at him! Don't you just want to squeeze those chubby cheeks?

Last Day: Time to fly back to AZ.  It was a nice visit but man do we have a lot to do back home.  I will tell you more about that in our next post : )
