Matsuri Festival

On Satuday we went to the Japenese Matsuri Festival.  My cousin Marisa was there with her school Japanese club selling artwork at a booth to raise money for their club.  We rode the light rail in and met up with my cousin Diane and Aunt Mary.  This is the furthest we ever rode the light rail into Phoenix so it was pretty neat.  It was also the first time we had to wait forever for the light rail to actually leave the station.  The festival had so many booths and different demonstrations.  Logan loved watching the Tai Kwan Do demonstration.  He thought it was hilarious that they were growling at eachother when they fought.  We all loved the giant Japanese snow cone we all shared.  It was the best snow cone I have ever had.  My Aunt Mary gave us some delicious Japanese cookies from a bakery booth and the kids devoured them.  Of course our favorite booth was Marisa's! We bought a bookmark that she made for each of the kids and I think my Aunt Mary bought everything else she made! LOL She is one proud Nana ; ) There were lots of comic book fans at the festival so we got to see a lot of crazy  interesting people in costumes (teehee).  After the festival we let the kids play on these giant bug statues on the way back to the train and then we ended our day at Native New Yorker for dinner.  You can bet that the kids slept good this night!
