37 Weeks Prego

Vanessa is now 37 weeks pregnant! Today we had an ultrasound and a doctor's appointment. The average baby at 37 weeks is about 14 inches from crown to rump and weighs almost 6½ pounds. They estimated Aila's weight to be 5 lbs 11 oz right now and she is sitting head down and very low! Although Aila is only in the 20th percentile for weight, they said that her legs are very long and that she will probably take after daddy with his height. (So far she sounds just like Logan, low weight but tall.) We could see her diaphragm moving this time doing her practice breathing- which is a good sign because it means her lungs are ready for the real thing! The ultrasound tech said Aila has tons of hair, which we also could not see the last time. It was so awesome to think that we will be seeing our baby girl in person pretty soon. In fact, when we mentioned the contractions Vanessa has been having, the doctor said that they were not Braxton Hicks and that they are the real thing! No, she is not in active labor yet, but you can have real contractions before being in active labor. The only bad news we got is that Vanessa lost weight this week : ( Her morning sickness came back this trimester and has been extremely bad this week. Pray that she can put on some more pounds for next week! Here are some belly pics of Vanessa:
