Here are the events I have found in the Houston area for December. Let me know if you know of any more!!! I think the only ones that are not free are the Moody Gardens and the Dickens on The Strand. Enjoy!!!
12/2/10-12/4/10 Houston Heights Holiday Home Tour
Recently described by Southern Living as "one of the most fascinating neighborhoods in the South’s biggest city," the Heights will be the scene of the Houston Heights Holiday Home Tour, featuring seven spectacular homes delightfully decorated for the holidays.
12/4/10-12/5/10 36th Annual Dickens on The Strand
Galveston Island’s most famous holiday event recreates the Victorian London of Charles Dickens for an entire weekend in December. Characters from Dickens novels walk the streets and food and entertainment fill the area with sights and smells that take you back to another era. 409-765-7834.

12/9/10- Polar Express at Discovery Green 6:30 pm

12/10/10-12/11/10- 47th Annual Candlelight Tour Immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of an old-fashioned Christmas at Sam Houston Park. Houston’s past comes alive as visitors stroll along paths lit by glowing candlelight and tour the interiors of Houston’s most historic structures. 713-655-1912.
12/11/10 Houston Heights - Lavishly decorated historic homes, carolers, live bands and tons of holiday cheer make this annual event one of the best in Houston. Families and friends pack coolers on wagons and stroll through the beautiful maze of historic homes decked out in lights and Christmas decor. This year's route is Byrne and Euclid! 713-683-5188.
12/11/10 - Light Boat Parade at the Kemah Boardwalk at 6:30 pm
12/12/10-HEB's Feast of Sharing Dinner- Free dinner (ham, potatoes, veggies, apple pie), live entertainment, and a visit from Santa from 1-4 pm at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Hall E
12/18/10- Breakfast with Santa at Chic Fil A from 8 am to 10 am

11/25/10 - 1/17/11 The Ice at Discovery Green
The Ice at Discovery Green park makes a return to downtown on Thanksgiving Day with over 7,200 square-feet of sparkling ice. In addition to ice skating, visitors will enjoy holiday art exhibits and special skating appearances and performances. 713-400-7336.
