Scorpion Scare

This week Vanessa had a not so fun encounter with a scorpion! Actually two scorpions to be exact! She was sleeping in bed and put her hand under her pillow, and the next thing she knew she was in immense pain. She lifter her pillow and could have sworn she saw something crawl away so she woke up Doug. Doug thought that she was just having a bad dream and was searching the bed half heartedly when Vanessa saw the culprit! It WAS a scorpion. Doug freaked out and ran out of the room to find a shoe (even though there were plenty of shoes in that room). When he came back he had to search again for the scorpion and luckily he found it and killed it. Vanessa called poison control and they told her that she would be ok and did not need to go into the emergancy room. She decided she would try to go back to sleep in the bathtub, figuring the scorpions would not get her under water. Well Doug had left a pair of his shorts in the bathroom and when Vanessa went to pick them up off the floor, lo and behold there was scorpion number two!!! So needless to say we hired a professional exterminator now and we stayed at Vanessa's mom's house for a night until we were sure everything was dead. Hopefully we never see one again! We have seen about 7 in the last 2 months! Here is a picture of the kind we have been having:
