On Saturday we went to a festival in Coolidge. Some of our friends were in a dance show and we wanted to go and watch. They gave a great performance! While we were there,Logan went on a ride by himself for the first time. When the ride started he had this funny look on his face of fear mixed with enjoyment and he sat stone still. It was cute!
Aila just keeps getting bigger and bigger! She has outgrown her newborn clothes and is in size 0-3 months! She has started smiling and she already rolled over from her tummy to her back a few times. Logan saw how excited Vanessa was when she rolled over that he tries to push her over now to get a reaction. What a good big brother trying to help his sister! Logan definitely loves Aila but we are pretty sure that jealousy has set in. Maybe it has finally hit him that she is here to stay. He keeps asking to be picked up when we hold her and he asks for a drink whenever Vanessa nurses her. He even gave her a good whack last week but when she started to cry he felt bad and started kissing her. We are definitely keeping an eye on him!
On Friday, Doug and Vanessa went on a date! It has been a long time since they have gone anywhere without Logan and Aila. It was the first time to leave Aila, but Nana watched her and did a great job! Thanks Nana. They went to see the movie "Fireproof" with Darren and Amber. It was awesome!
Yesterday we took Aila to the pool. She looked adorable in her swim suit that Granny got for her. We put her legs in the water but she was not thrilled so she sat with daddy and watched mommy and Logan swim.
After the zoo we went to Nana and Grandpa's house. We ate dinner there and all of the cousins got to play. Grandpa's first time holding Aila: The cousins playing: Ethan got caught wearing Vanessa's shoes:
Saturday was Fisher Price Day at the zoo. It was supposed to be a big event but we were not that impressed. All it was was a bunch of tents with fisher price toys in them for the kids to play with. It was insanely crowded and very hot! We had fun at the zoo though. We metLogan's friend Elias. Aila hanging out in the stroller: Doug and Logan at the playground: Logan playing with the new fisher price remote control dinosaur: He thought the remote control was a phone: Doug and Logan in front of the giant fisher price dinosaur: Elias'Family Doug sporting his Fisher Price visor: The giant turtles were mating!: Logan cooling off: Logan riding the rubber horse swing:
Look how big Aila is getting! We swear she changes every day!
Tummy time! She is starting to lift her head! Look how alert she is! She always sleeps with her feet curled up! Even in this sleep sack! She can track things with her eyes now! She is cuter and cuter every day!
Yesterday was a bitter sweet day. It was the last day we got to spend with Doug's parents before they moved to Louisiana. It was sad to say goodbye. We are all very close and we will miss them terribly. We are happy for them though. Doug's dad got an amazing job working for the Southern Baptist Convention as Louisiana's missions pastor. We know that this job is from the Lord and that he will be amazing at it. Please pray for their journey as they have many miles to drive. Granny and Papa if you are reading this we love you and miss you already!
