Aila's Baby Dedication

Today was a very special day because we dedicated Aila to the Lord. This is a ceremony in which parents give back to God what God has blessed them with. The parents make a public statement that they intend to teach their children about the Lord and the church makes a pact to help the parents along the way. Aila Lynne looked like a beautiful little princess and we were so blessed to have our family there to support us. Thank you Lord for our precious baby girl!!!

Circus

On Saturday morning we went to the circus with Vanessa's brother and his family and Doug's parents. Logan was really into it for the first half. He loved the dog act and the bear act. His favorite was riding the pony!

Wine Tasting????? Nahhh!

On Friday we decided to go to a jazz festival in Chandler with Doug's family. The "festival" turned out to be a restaurant that was having wine tasting and had a jazz band playing. LOL So we all decided to go to Makudu's Island (the most awesome play place we have ever seen!) Logan and Grace had an awesome time. We haven't seen Logan get that excited since Disney World! Most of my pics came out too dark but here are some:

Nana's Birthday

Thursday was Vanessa's mom's birthday. We all got to her house early and decorated and surprised her when she got home from work. Vanessa made dinner and Amber baked a cake. We really wanted to make the day special for her!

Chicken Fried Steak

Since Doug's parents are moving, Vanessa wanted to learn how to make chicken fried steak from Doug's mom (it's one of Doug's favorites). While we were busy in the kitchen Logan went swimming. He is going to be really sad when summer ends and he can't swim anymore!

Tuesday Night

On Tuesday night, after getting the ok from Aila's doctor, we went to the mall with Doug's parents to get her ears pierced. But the store policy is that the won't pierce a baby's ears until they are 3 months, so we will go back in November : ) Logan had fun trying on the accessories and then he went on a ride. Afterward we went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner and met the rest of Doug's family.

Aila is 1 Month Old

Aila is one month old today! We can't believe it! She had a doctor's appointment today and the doctor said she looks great. She weighs 9 lbs 4 oz so she jumped up from the 30th percentile to the 50th! And she is 21.5 inches long, which is also the 50th percentile. The doctor also gave us the go ahead to get Aila's ears pierced! YAY! He said it would be better to do it when she is younger because it is easier to take care of and less likely to get infected. So pretty soon you will see our princess with some earrings : )
