Uncle Mark and Aunt Jen's

On Saturday we visited Doug's brother and his wife's house. Logan got to play in the pool with his cousin and the grown ups got to eat yummy pasta and hang out.
Granny gave Aila her first purse:

Logan can open the doors at their house. He snuck away into their bathroom:

Aila is 4 weeks Old!

Aila is 4 weeks old and getting a lot bigger! We are not sure how much she weighs yet, but she has a doctor's appointment on Tuesday so we will find out then! Check out pics of her in this cute dress:

One of these days I will get a nice pic of the 2 of them!

Playdate at McDonalds

This week we had a playdate at McDonalds. This is the fanciest McDonalds I have ever been to and they have an awesome toddler play area. The kids had a blast and so did all of the mommies : )

Puppet Show

Today Vanessa took the kids to see a puppet show at the library. It was about a turkey who wanted to sing in an opera! Very silly! There was lots of music and Logan did lots of dancing... which completely wore him out. Here he is on our ride home:

Slide Fun

Last night we took Logan to the park in his new jeep, which he totally loved! At the park, Logan finally went down the slide by himself! He was a little freaked out at first, but then he didn't want it to stop!

White Trash Shopping

So we have no problem making fun of ourselves. One thing that we can make fun of oursleves about is our being "white trash" sometimes. For example, one of our favorite things to do is go around neighborhoods on their bulk trash day and take things that we could use or sell. It is amazing some of the things people throw away! This week while Doug was working he saw a powerwheels on the street, so he rang the bell and asked the homeowners if they were throwing it away... and they were! So now Logan has a nice, thrown away, powerwheels jeep : )

Birthday Playdate

Yesterday Logan attended a birthday playdate for a little girl from our church. All of the kids got to decorate their own cupcakes with colorful frostings, sprinkles, and candies. It was really neat! After the kids ate their cupcakes they all played dress up and danced around the living room. It was adorable!

Nana's House

Saturday evening we went to Nana's house for some yummy meatloaf and mashed potatoes. There is something about Nana's house that always makes us want to eat : ) We hung out after dinner and watched a movie called The Cleaner. It definitely was a fun night!

Visiting the O'Neals

On Saturday we stopped by the O'Neals to borrow their lawn mower and we ended up hanging out for a while. We have so much fun when we see them that it is hard to "just stop by". While we were there Logan cuddled up with their dog, Ali.

Granny and Papa's Fiesta

On Friday night we all went to Granny and Papa's for a fiesta. The kiddos all went swimming and Doug's sister-in-law worked on our birth announcement (thanks Jen!) It is so sad to think that Granny and Papa will be moving at the end of this month : ( Here are the pics:

Dr. Appointment

Today Logan and Aila both had a doctor's appointment. It was a little stressful for Vanessa. Logan had to get shots and at the exact moment he needed his shots Aila decided she was hungry. Poor kiddos! But we survived : ) Logan had his 15 month check up. The doctor checked out Logan's legs because Vanessa was worried that he was bow legged but the doctor said that it was normal for his age and it will correct itself over time. We also checked Logan's growth and he is slowly climbing up the weight chart. He now weighs 20 lbs 13 oz and he grew almost 4 inches since his 12 month appointment, measuring 31.75 inches! So as far as growth goes, he is right on track! Developmentally Logan is still ahead of the game. Some of Logan's developmental milestones are:
Points to body part when asked (he can do head, eyes, nose, ears, and tongue)
Responds to instructions (e.g., "give me a kiss", "throw this in the garbage")
Empties containers of contents (and makes a mess for mommy!)
Imitates others (like Aila's hiccups, Doug's snorting or Sunny's barking)
Uses a spoon or fork
Pushes and pulls toys while walking
Walks backward
Scribbles with a crayon
Runs
"Helps" around the house (he likes sweeping and mopping the best!)
Turns the pages of a book
Climbing
Able to stack three blocks
Uses common objects the correct way(e.g., the telephone)
Using words (favorites are: ice, up, eye, hi, mama, dada, rock, uh oh - he can also say: dog, cat, hello, nana, clap, yeah, Aila, Doug)
Using signs (eat, drink, more, all done, fan, plane, bird, change diaper, ball, help, sleep, bath, swim, hear, smell, open)

Aila is also doing great. At 2 weeks old babies are supposed to have gained back their birth weight (Aila was 6 lbs 13 oz). When they weighed her today she weighed 8 lbs 1 oz!!! Yay!!! When she was born she was 19.5 inches long and today she was already 20.75 inches long. So she is a lean, mean, growing machine!!! Developmentally there is nothing too new. She is starting to stay awake more and some people have actually been lucky enough to see her with her eyes open : )

We are so blessed to have these two little angels! Praise God that they are healthy and growing!

Brother and Sister

Logan is in love with his little sister. This morning he helped Vanessa give Aila a bath. He always wants to help change her diaper and he is obsessed with brushing her hair. We always have to keep an eye on him though because he doesn't realize how delicate she is and tries to play rough with her.

Labor Day

For Labor Day we went to Vanessa's parents' house for dinner. It was delicious and it was nice to have everyone all together. Logan got to play with his cousins again. We went to the park after dinner. It wasn't too hot, but there were lots of mosquitos so we didn't stay too long.

He wasn't too sure if he liked the swing:

He loved the slide:

He had fun rocking with daddy:

Fun at the Mall

We actually had a free Sunday night. We usually have evangalism with our church and Doug usually does marriage counseling for a couple he is marrying in November but both were cancelled! So we decided to go to the mall and let Logan play (too hot still to play outside). We met up with Vanessa's brother and sister-in-law and Logan was lucky to play with his cousins : )

Playing in the toy store (He loved those little dogs that walk and bark):
